Hello I plan on getting the toe shortening procedure on my first 3 toes by Dr.Stuart J Mogul in late november and i am sooo glad i can find someone who has experienced this. I haven't went for a consultation yet but i will. I found your blog while researching questions on Yahoo Answers. I have read all your blog entrys so far & i was feeling nervous but so excited at the same time because i HATE MY TOES!!! arghhhhh. My first 3 toes are extreeemely long and it's always been bothering me for as long as i can remember. I'm sure you know exactly how it feels not being able/wanting to wear open toe shoes. I can't even wear pretty tennis shoes except a few that i own because my feet look so huge!! I mean i have big feet in general but my long toes make it freaking worse. I enjoy reading your blogs & looking forward to read more of it. I'll probably even sign up for my own blog account but by then you'd probably already be walking in gorgeous shoes while i'm in a cast & wheelchair lol. I've had few cosmetic surgeries done in the past 2 years and i was put under general anethesia so i'm not so scared of being put to sleep except for the pain when i wake up!! yikes. goodluck on your next doctor app. and i hope you post up pics of your new feet ;)
if you want you can reply back to my email account -- Jen.Park728@yahoo.com
how much did each toe cost you just the toe shortening procedure itself? and what should i expect when i go for my consultation? i know november is a long time from now but ahh i'm so excited and can't stop thinking of how pretty my feet will be. people might think girls are crazy for such things like this but i think us girls are brave as hell and do what it takes to fulfill our satisfaction! peace & love, take care girl.

Dear anonymous,

I'm happy you're enjoying my blog and going to have the surgery and get to experience pretty feet like me now! I did not have much pain but did have some complications. One of my toes kept turning with the pin in it and I had to go to the doctor a few times to get it straightened out. I was supposed to get the pins out after 2 weeks but because of the toe I had to wait 3 weeks. Every doctor is different though, the first doctor I went to said she keeps the pins in for at least 4 weeks. I got 5/6 pins out today. The last pin (the problematic one) will be taken out on Monday. I'm very excited about my new feet and grateful that I can finally walk in normal shoes (for now, just one foot and it's a sandal because of the swelling). I'm not sure about the actual cost of the procedure, you need to contact your podiatrist to see if they accept your insurance like mine did. During the consultation, they did Xrays, explained exactly what he wanted to achieve and what would happen during the surgery. Don't be nervous. Losing out on a few weeks is definitely worth the results. Good luck!
